snort recieved signal 3, exiting

["steve nutt" <luckysnutt () cox net>]

I have noticed in /var/log/messages recently that I get "snort received
signal 3, exiting" after I have started snort with service snort start.
Snort is running in snort -D mode. I 'm wondering if anyone has noticed this
problem yourself and why it is stopping? Is there a way to prevent snort
from stopping like this?
