The Guardian software package now has Perl scripts that support auto updating of PIX firewalls. All the normal caveats apply of course about the danger of auto-blocking. You can check out Guardian here: http://www.chaotic.org/guardian/index.html I highly recommend reading that pages suggested link to securityfocus that discusses why you may not want to do this and what the associated dangers are. HTH, Kent ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Is it possible to have snort login to the firewall and block IPs, etc, in the event of an error? We're thinking of using the Cisco IDS management software for that, and a few other reasons.
