snort & db with a low speed connection

I'll use snort for many sensors with a mysql db & acid;
my question is:
if my connection between a snort sensor and the db is too slow to log
all the alerts where snort put his alerts?
snort pause logging?
And what happen if the net of the db is down, but the net of one sensor
is active?
