signature and update

hi all,
is there anyway that i can keep watching for a
signature update.
understood that recently there's scanning for ssh
(port 22) but i couldn't find any signature for it and
neither my snort got trigger by it.
when i go to http://www.snort.org/downloads.html#1.14 
it stated that date added is 2001-08-13 01:06:15-05,
which is far way back and i'm pretty sure there are
some activity has raised along the time.
