kinda OT

Hopefully someone has seen this one:

I have two 6509 Cisco's and my snort box. One 6509 is mirroring one port to
my non-ip'd snort interface. The other one has my regular ip'd interface.
When I start snort with the following:

/usr/local/bin/snort -i <non-ip snort-interface> -c
/usr/local/demarc/conf/snort.conf

the snort box completely disappears from the network. I can ping my ip
address, from the console, but nothing else. After rebooting all is good
until I start snort again.
