Doubts about Idscenter working with Snort

Hello guys,

I am new to Snort and I am trying to configure Idscenter. I am running Snort
from command line and logging packets in a binary file, and alerts in the
alert.ids file. First, I would like to know were can I find any
documentation of Idscenter. 

I have some doubts about it:

 - Idscenter substitutes Snort of command line? Is there any special
configuration to make it? (I have tried to configure it to work this way but
didn´t get. Every time I test my configuration, the program stops.)

 - It is possible to have Idscenter like a console, to monitor Snort of
command line running in others servers? How can I do it?
