snort -D and inittab

[dweise <dweise () rider edu>]

hello,
  I was joyfully using 'snort -deD'  in my inittab and now i upgraded to 
1.8.3 and it no longer works. the error that snort is respawning to many 
times keeps appearing. i compiled it with no options. does anybody have a 
guess as why 'snort -deD' doesn't work with inittab anymore?
