problem

HI

Can anyone help with this error.

I have just compiled snort v1.8.2 from source on slackware.

When I try to start snort I get the following error.

ERROR /etc/snort.conf (57): Bad value in variable definition!
Make sure you don't have a "$" in the var name
Fatal Error, Quitting..

I have looked at line 57 in snort.conf
it reads "var SMTP $HOME_NET"
