Standard Dell PC workstation, 8G IDE HD, 128 M Ram PIII 500Mhz. I'm trying to do queries on it and it restarts without warning. I'm beginning to think that I compiled it wrong or it's unhappy with the OS and bugging anyone here probably won't get me too far. Off to the mysql lists, I guess...

I did this on a 2 x P667 with 512m ram, and it took just a minute. On a 2 x Ppro 200mhz at home, 128m ram, it took a little longer. Both boxes running FreeBSD 4.2/4.3 I know by FreeBSD box with 2 x 233Mhz MMX, 128m but IDE hard drives is a real slow dog. -----Original Message----- From: Chris Eidem [mailto:jceidem () dexma com] Sent: Thursday, August 02, 2001 2:40 PM To: snort-users () lists sourceforge net Subject: [Snort-users] Setting up SnortDB Hey y'all I'm in the process of setting up an OpenBSD box up to run snort and log to a database. I'm in the final steps of building the tables in snortdb-extra, but I have had the mysql running now for about 3.5 hours on adding the services (INSERT INTO services ...) with mysqld running ~90% CPU usage. Is this normal? Or, more likely, I pooched the build of mysql? Running on: Dell PIII/500 128M RAM OpenBSD 2.8-stable mysql 3.23.40 snort 1.70 TIA, Chris _______________________________________________ Snort-users mailing list Snort-users () lists sourceforge net Go to this URL to change user options or unsubscribe: http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/snort-users Snort-users list archive: http://www.geocrawler.com/redir-sf.php3?list=snort-users
