Red Hat Linux 7.0

I have observed that a box configured with linux 7.0 and with snort running "snort -Afull -c snort.conf" will do a core 
dump when a packet is sent to it with the size of 65500.  Have you experienced anything similiar?  The install is a 
custom install with no xwindows or daemons installed.
