Disabling OpenSsl Support in configure

I have tried to remove ssl(xml) support on a snort configuration as when its
compiled it returns the errors previously noted to the list on a sun cobalt
box.
But when I run configure it still picks it up
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/snort --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql
--enable-openssl=no
Ideas?
