We signed on.Also, while everyone in health care policy is immersed in the Medicare debate, another important public debate should be taking place: the building of a national health care data system.
We put together a comparison of the national health data system initiatives in the two patient safety bills that were debated today in the U.S. Senate HELP committee (Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions).
The much longer House bill, that passed the House overwhelmingly in March includes $25 million in information technology grants and the creation of a Medical Information Technology Advisory Board to build health data system interoperability across the country. You can find the comparison at: http://www.cchconline.org/pr/pr072303.php
Feel free to share it with the list. Thanks!
