--- Date: Fri, 31 Jan 2003 11:00:35 -0500 (EST) Subject: Swire Declaration for Verizon in case with RIAA From: "Peter Swire" <peter () peterswire net> To: <declan () well com> Declan: Yesterday I filed a Declaration on behalf of Verizon in its case with the RIAA. Here's a flavor of what I think of the RIAA's legal position: "The subpoenas will become a new form of spam. Fraudulent subpoenas will be easy to file, with no judicial oversight. Any of us who visit a website, but don't want to reveal our names, will now be at serious risk of being tracked back to our homes." The Declaration is at my web page, at www.peterswire.net, under "Current Events." Thanks, Peter -- Professor Peter P.
