Dear Declan:

You and your readers may be interested in an announcement made this morning
by the President of the Treasury Board of the Government of Canada.  The
President announced a mandatory Government of Canada policy requiring
departments and agencies to complete Privacy Impact Assessments whenever
they collect personal information.
