"THOUGHTS ON SETTING UP A VULNERABILITY RESEARCH LAB"

In countries where only few companies have a seperate
department for IT SECURITY and AUDIT, the need for one
is
slowly being realized.

I would like to gather your thoughts, tips,
experiences,
whishlist on those who have been fortunate to be part
of a Security research w/ Lab, or anyone who's
planning to
start an RND Lab for security.

SOME QUESTIONS I HAVE IN MIND:
1) How would you setup your own Security &
Vulnerabilty Research lab?
   a) HARDWARE - machines/platforms, OS, networking
      devices. Wi-fi etc...
   b) SOFTWARE
   c) SKILLS
   d) etc..

2) What would be/had been your biggest challenge in
setting up a lab.

3) What do you feel makes a security research and
delopment effective?

4) Some wish-lists on you labs?

Thank you!

God Bless!
