I think the list fails to see, or perhaps doesn't want to see, the fact that the reality of network security issues is about to hit the general public, regardless of how prepared the public is to understand these issues. Every damn thing is interconnected now, or soon will be, and Joe Blow must be made aware of his need to secure his connected equipment. The scary part of this for "the list" may be the fact that our "knowledge monopoly" is about to be broken by widespread public disclosure of, and therefore interest in, network security issues. We're starting to see TV adverts for network security. The security business is going mainstream. It's gonna happen, trust me. If this means we small security providers have to change our business models, then we should change them. Business niches open and close. The big guys are moving in, and with their marketing muscle they will dictate terms of business. See the trend, and adapt or get run over. stonewall ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- This list is provided by the SecurityFocus Security Intelligence Alert (SIA) Service.
