02 from an auditor.   There are organizations which provide certifcation for auditors and require them to complete 
continuing education requirements on an annual basis to maintain certification.  The Certified Information Systems 
Auditor designation from ISACA and the Certified Internal Auditor designation from the Institute of Internal Auditors 
are two.  If you provide them with the certification number from a "supposedly" certified auditor, they will verify it 
for you.  However, I would agree that there is no organization which continually monitors or certifies the continuing 
"competency" of auditors.
