<That's probably a practical truth nowadays, but it's not strictly 100% <true for every NIC. Many years ago I used to help maintain a DECNet on win nt/2k , easiest method might be adding registryvalue networkaddress:<mac> reg_sz to the corresponding nic-key. this is actually the way some vendors are doing this. of course, the place varies with every nic, numbering,os, etc, but it can also be automated. no separate drivers needed, and works also remotely, if acls do not restrict it. cheers, _jussi
