networkaddress:<mac> reg_sz to the corresponding nic-key.
this is actually the way some vendors are doing this. of course, the place
varies with every nic, numbering,os, etc, but it can also be automated. no
separate drivers needed, and works also remotely, if acls do not restrict
it.
