have a separated office from the rest of the house

don't do work on your personal computers and don't do personal stuff
on your work computers

start some regular activity that will force you to stop working --
boxing, karate, yoga, <insert hundreds of other things here>

Other things you should think about include that you basically need
everything at your house that an office provides -- good
printing/copying/faxing capabilities, general storage (file cabinets),
potentially secure storage (safes/special locks/house alarms), a file
server with backups, and probably a few more things

if you are working as a contractor and not fully employed, also make
sure to document all your related expenses and to know all the things
you can write off as its a bunch of them.

Ok, this is so vaguely infosec related I almost hesitate to bring it up.
Many pen-testers/security folks seem to work from home/telecommute, more so
than any other field I personally know. I'd love to get folk's thoughts on
how they carry on that lifestyle. A few breakout questions:

1. How do you stay productive enough so you are still of value to your
employer?
2. Do you feel isolated at home, and what do you do for a social life?
3. Any tips on separation of home life and work life?
4. Anything else you think an infosec telecommuter should think about?

How do thing work for you?

Thanks,
Adrian
