Yes, I was playing devil's advocate here. Sorry, I definitely think it is a
good idea to report these sites.

I can't believe you ask this question. Personally I would do everything
within my power to get the info deleted. It's not ethical to close your eyes
and walk away because your info is not in there. I would not be able to
sleep having this info.
I believe the world can only be a better place if we all do what we can to
make our own spot better.
If my data were in that list I'd do everything to get it removed too, so
why would I not at least try to do the same with data of others.

I must say I would not risk my own life or that of my family to have this
problem solved, but I gather this is not at the order.

Again; this is my personal opinion.

How about not reporting it all? There is no legal obligation to do so.
 Why get involved?

I certainly would not read a story about a website containing data from
2004-2007, who cares?

Have you considered reporting it to google, mcafee and any of the

I've just started the process of reporting it to Google and if I don't
get anything back in the next month will think about going to the
media about it.

The data may be old, possibly dating 2004-2007 however it is still a
lot of personal info that is definitely worth something in the wrong
hands so needs removing.

A quick update on this, despite contacting various organisations,
including US Secret Service and FBI (or CIA, can't remember), Russian
Certs and both Visa and Mastercard, the site is still there and the
stashes on it are growing. It is now also hosting some hacking tools
that weren't there before including c99shell and r57shell and now some
porn as well.
