US SIM for us travellers

Just checked and my G1 does HSPA/WCDMA and Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE so
looks like I can go for any network.

Thanks for all the suggestions I'll check out the price plans and
hopefully be able to communicate when I get over there.

T-Mobile, AT&T and Virgin are likely choices

Boost mobile is cheap. Not sure on the bands etc. Other pay as you go
might do the trick

Hi
When I come to Shmoocon I'd like to be able to put a US SIM in my
phone so I can do data and voice for the week I'm there. Can anyone
recommend a cheap way to get pay as you go voice and data? I don't
need a phone and will probably only be checking mail and twitter so
not need too much data.
