Training Question - Securing Windows

I have taken the SANS 505 course from Jason Fossen. The course is one of the most coherent, logical courses I've ever attended. Every single Windows administrator should be required to sit through this course. I don't care how many years of experience they might have with Windows, they will learn something important at least every hour. Of course, if you don't have lots of admin experience with Windows you'll learn something important every few minutes! I highly recommend it. On Feb 24, 2010, at 2:21 PM, Chris Merkel wrote:
I have a Windows sysadmin who is interested in taking a class on defending Windows systems. Anyone taken the SANS 505 Class - Securing Windows? Opinions? He was looking at this class from Global Knowledge, but check out the course outline - WTF does most of this have to do with defense? It looks like they took the CEH and re-packaged it into something a sysadmin could get away with taking: http://www.globalknowledge.com/training/course.asp?pageid=9&courseid=10836&catid=191&country=United+States Aside from SANS - are there any other (good) options? -- - Chris Merkel _______________________________________________ Pauldotcom mailing list Pauldotcom at mail.pauldotcom.com http://mail.pauldotcom.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pauldotcom Main Web Site: http://pauldotcom.com
