Normally I would agreed hands down, however Adrian stated this was a talk on how to do a hacklab with a low budget in mind, and to air gap things you really need two distinct internet paths, something many may not be able to do. Good plan for any corporation! - Robert arch3angel Michael Douglas wrote:
Actually for such a thing, air gaping any hacklab, CTF, or other "playtime" network isn't a bad idea. Just my $0.02 - Mick On Wed, Nov 4, 2009 at 4:39 PM, Grymoire <pauldotcom at grymoire.com> wrote:One thing you might want to mention, is that people who do this in large corporations may want to have two firewall/routers between the lab, and the corporate firewall. The first one is configurable and under control of the hack lab staff. The second is controlled by corporate IT. Think of malware being discovered in the corporation, and the hacklab gets blamed for causing it. The second router protects both parties. The only way the hacklab can infect the corporation is if it bypassed the IT-configured firewall, which means IT screwed up and is therefore responsible. _______________________________________________ Pauldotcom mailing list Pauldotcom at mail.pauldotcom.com http://mail.pauldotcom.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pauldotcom Main Web Site: http://pauldotcom.com_______________________________________________ Pauldotcom mailing list Pauldotcom at mail.pauldotcom.com http://mail.pauldotcom.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pauldotcom Main Web Site: http://pauldotcom.com
