The system which pays my mortgage (Astaro) can be set up as a transparent device and you can activate only the components you want. Both Untangle and Cobia can also be used without turning on all the options, but I haven't checked out the latest versions of either. Not to hijack the original authors post but I figured its almost the same topic. I know smoothwall and others FW distros can also do content filter but what if you don't want all of the package and just the content filter portion. Is (squid+apache+squidguard) the only option for this, is there other distros or free recommended solutions?
