vmserver nic in promiscuous mode

Have you put the NIC of the host into promisc mode? I'm not certain if
you can put vwmare bridged connections into promiscuous mode but I
reckon the host adapter would need to be if there were any chance of
this working. It might be different for NAT and host only networks
too.
