Does This Negate Facial Recognition?

Given that facial recognition technology is supposed to be able to tell identical twins apart I would assume that differences in bone structure, not to mention the after effects of such extensive surgery, would render the face unusable for getting passed this type of security device. That said I might work wonders in meatspace though. I can't see passport photographs being done away with as the primary method of identity verification any time soon. I was just curious if facial recognition is going to be worthless in the next 10-20 years :-) http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/12/16/AR2008121600838.html Makes ya ponder a few minutes as to how this could affect security, what if this person happened to be in a position that required facial recognition... Although we are still using Larry's picture to gain access to the Batcave, but don't tell him that :-) _______________________________________________ Pauldotcom mailing list Pauldotcom at mail.pauldotcom.com http://mail.pauldotcom.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pauldotcom Main Web Site: http://pauldotcom.com
