Mike, The installer has several features that the zip file does not: 1. Zenmap is included in the installer, but not in the zip file. 2. Ndiff is included as a self-contained executable, but with the zip file you need a working Python installation. 3. The installer has an option to add the included commands to your PATH so that you can easily run them from any command window. 4. The installer includes the latest WinPcap installer with a silent install option. Dan On Dec 6, 2015 9:48 PM, "Mike ." <dmciscobgp () hotmail com> wrote:
hello again sorry with this question if it seems silly. i have always d/l nmap and used the zip version. that way, when i see a new update, i just go in and replace the files i see that are newer and not have to touch the rest that were not changed. is there really any advantage to those that d/l and install it via the "wizard"? it is all the same program, correct? just had me wondering is all mike _______________________________________________ Sent through the dev mailing list https://nmap.org/mailman/listinfo/dev Archived at http://seclists.org/nmap-dev/
