I've ran into this in 6.49BETA6. You can check the values with `dumpbin /headers' .
Ivan, What version of Nmap are you using? Though we don't officially support XP, this should have been fixed in 6.49BETA5 and 6.49BETA6. Dan On Nov 8, 2015 3:29 PM, "Ivan Pozdeev" <vano () mail mipt ru> wrote:
Greetings, Dev. In PE file's IMAGE_OPTIONAL_HEADER, there are fields Major/MinorOperatingSystemVersion, Major/MinorImageVersion and Major/MinorSubsystemVersion . In the latest Nmap .exe's, they are set to 6.0 - when the OS image loader sees this, it gives the "not a valid Win32 application" error. According to https://secwiki.org/w/Nmap/Old_Windows_Releases, the latest Nmap release compiled targeting WinXP (with the values set to 5.1) is 6.47 . -- Regards, Ivan Pozdeev _______________________________________________ Sent through the dev mailing list https://nmap.org/mailman/listinfo/dev Archived at http://seclists.org/nmap-dev/
