Hy everyone! I'm really intrested in that position, but i have some questions about it. How much scrpt to write in the summer? It depends on the recent vulnerabilities? Or i found a vulnerability on somewhere in the internet and i talk to with my mentor to write it? Thanks, Egon _______________________________________________ Sent through the dev mailing list https://nmap.org/mailman/listinfo/dev Archived at http://seclists.org/nmap-dev/
Hello, I never participated in this particular position neither as a student nor as a mentor, but I think it might be useful to share my guesses with you. I think that you will be expected to work as much as other students, which is pretty much full time. The number of scripts would depend on their size and I believe that you could work on one masterpiece script for the whole summer as much as on a dozen of smaller, but useful scripts. All in all, it's up to you how you plan your 15-week (or so) timeline. You might account for latest vulnerabilities that will pop up during the summer, I would expect one or two "big things" to happen in the infosec world during GSoC. That's what I think, but I would wait for one of previous mentors to step in. Cheers, Jacek
