Please ignore my previous message; I have since discovered that the source of my problem was the usage of a SYN Stealth scan, as opposed to a full connect. On Tue, Sep 23, 2014 at 4:46 PM, Computer Video and Technology Services, Inc. <computervideotech () gmail com> wrote:
Hello, I'm trying to get some help with finding the source of a problem I've been encountering lately. I've turned everywhere trying to find where I should seek assistance, so if this is not the best method of trying to solve my issue, I would appreciate it if you could direct me towards the right people who may be able to help me. Anyway, the problem that I'm having with NMap is that no matter what host I scan or what ports I search for activity on, the state of all scanned ports is always reported as "filtered". I'm not exactly the most experienced NMap user, so I'm not sure how to locate where the problem is coming from, but I can certainly tell that many of the "filtered" ports should actually be reported as "open". Any help in solving my dilemma would make my day, as I've been practically tearing my hair out trying to figure this out. Thanks
