Why is "--disable-arp-ping" not in the help summary page ? Are there more of these "undocumented" features ?
Marc,The help summary page (found by running nmap with no arguments, or here: http://nmap.org/book/man-briefoptions.html) is designed to showcase the most common options in a short format that can be easily read through. It currently clocks in at 112 lines. By my count, there are about 174 useful options (that is, not easter-egg). These are documented in the Nmap man page (http://nmap.org/book/man.html). --disable-arp-ping is specifically in the Host Discovery section (http://nmap.org/book/man-host-discovery.html#idm226644043744)
DanP.S. If you want a helpful tool for remembering Nmap's options, and your shell is Bash, check out my nmap-completion scripts: https://github.com/bonsaiviking/nmap-completion
