Hi nmap masters :) Any follow-up on this? Do you need any additional information from me? Thanks. On Thu, Oct 18, 2012 at 7:39 AM, Richard Miles < richard.k.miles () googlemail com> wrote:
Hi I was looking at archive and it's not the first time that a similar problem was reported (http://seclists.org/nmap-dev/2012/q3/973), at least I think it's similar, but the patch doesn't appear to solve the issue properly. I download nmap from svn a few days ago, my version is Nmap 6.02. I'm using the following command nmap -sT -n -sV -O --script "(auth or brute or exploit or intrusive or vuln) and not (smb-brute or ldap-brute)" -iL HOSTS.txt -oN Results-HOSTS.txt And I get the following error: false MSRPC call returned a fault (packet type) false MSRPC call returned a fault (packet type) Socket troubles: Too many open files Socket troubles: Too many open files Socket troubles: Too many open files Socket troubles: Too many open files Socket troubles: Too many open files Socket troubles: Too many open files Socket troubles: Too many open files Socket troubles: Too many open files Socket troubles: Too many open files nmap: nsock_core.c:1187: nsp_add_event: Assertion `nse->iod->sd >= 0' failed.
