Re: nmap crashing on os x lion

My experience is identical to Roland's. I'm running Lion on a MacBook Pro 2.66 GHz Core2 Duo, 4GB memory. 5.59 Beta-1
runs from command line fine, zenmap crashes after asking for admin password.

Hi Fyodor,

just did a short test on my Mac. I'm running OSX Lion 10.7 on an iMac
2.8 GHz i5 with 8GB RAM.
Both packages from your website (nmap-5.51.dmg and nmap-5.59BETA1.dmg)
could be installed without problems, both nmaps are running fine from
the commandline without errors so far (did some standard ping and port
scans and tried some NSE options).

BUT: After starting Zenmap I'm asked for my admin pw, then the program
terminates - same for both packages.

Cheers,
Roland

Your report doesn't give us a lot to go on, but I'd like to hear
reports from others as to whether our Nmap package works for them on
OS X Lion. If it is really broken, that's the sort of thing we should
try to fix before the upcoming stable release.

I think this problem related to universal support and may be luck of Rosetta.
Any news regarding version of nmap fully Intel and with 64-bit OS support?

I'm not sure if that is related to your problem, but removing PowerPC
support is probably a good idea. I just started a thread about it
(http://seclists.org/nmap-dev/2011/q3/430).

Cheers,
Fyodor
