My experience is identical to Roland's. I'm running Lion on a MacBook Pro 2.66 GHz Core2 Duo, 4GB memory. 5.59 Beta-1 runs from command line fine, zenmap crashes after asking for admin password. Walt On Jul 30, 2011, at 1:17 AM, Roland Kessler wrote:
Hi Fyodor, just did a short test on my Mac. I'm running OSX Lion 10.7 on an iMac 2.8 GHz i5 with 8GB RAM. Both packages from your website (nmap-5.51.dmg and nmap-5.59BETA1.dmg) could be installed without problems, both nmaps are running fine from the commandline without errors so far (did some standard ping and port scans and tried some NSE options). BUT: After starting Zenmap I'm asked for my admin pw, then the program terminates - same for both packages. If it is really broken, that's the sort of thing we should try to fix before the upcoming stable release.I think this problem related to universal support and may be luck of Rosetta. Any news regarding version of nmap fully Intel and with 64-bit OS support?I'm not sure if that is related to your problem, but removing PowerPC support is probably a good idea. I just started a thread about it (http://seclists.org/nmap-dev/2011/q3/430).
