Currently the IPv4 raw sockets are opened only on the default interface, so I had to use the raw ethernet sockets in the broadcast-ping. I'm thinking about a functionality where the script writer could select the interface of the opened raw IPv4 socket, or get information about it. What do you guys think, is it worth the hassle of programming that functionality, or should we just fall back to ethernet sockets.
