Hi

I am Nikhil Jindal, pursuing B.Tech in Information Technology. I have deep
interest in networking and I want to work for nmap as a GSoc intern. I have
proficiency working with C/C++ and I have worked on network manager of Linux
kernel. I have also implemented some small projects in networking just out
of interest. I would like to know more about this project "IPv6 Expert".
Please let me know the requirements that I need to have to be capable to
work on this project.

Hi, thanks for introducing yourself. You should start with these links:
        http://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/org/home/google/gsoc2011/nmap
        http://nmap.org/soc/
        http://nmap.org/soc/GeneralRequirements.html
        http://nmap.org/soc/apply.html

The specific details about the IPv6 task are http://nmap.org/soc/#ipv6.
You should have experience with socket programming and preferably with
raw sockets. Being familiar with Nmap's port-scanning and raw-socket
code in scan_engine.cc and libnetutil/netutil.cc is also a plus. In your
proposal you should elaborate on your network manager experience and
highlight the parts that apply to the IPv6 project.
