Ok, sorry for the mistake. Actually I grepped for ".nse" to find the
convention in the file, so I missed the other ones... wrong method,
wrong results!

Nevertheless, there is still the unexpected '.' between "ftp-bounce"
and "NSE script". This is what I was initially trying to fix. It is in
the sentence: "[...] and use the ftp-bounce.  NSE script." at the end
of the Port Scanning Techniques part of the man page.

I've seen that effect too. It's actually caused by the indexterm, but I
don't know how to fix it.
