Hello all, June 14, 2010 Status Report #7 of 15 Accomplishments: * integrated most of the Insecure.org et al. chrome into Rainmap * finished registration front-end * partway through "new/edit scan" and "profile" components * discussed Linode options with Fyodor Priorities: * finish "new/edit scan" page * finish "profile" page * begin transitioning to a Linode instance * read up (further) on message queues — RabbitMQ[2] is the top contender * read up (further) on Carrot[0] and Celery[1] — distributed task queues for Python (using RabbitMQ), these will be used to communicate with/spawn worker nmap processes, and make horizontal scaling much easier. Cheers! [0]: http://pypi.python.org/pypi/carrot/0.4.0 [1]: http://celeryproject.org/ [2]: http://www.rabbitmq.com/ -- @
