I installed the x64 version of Wireshark a couple of weeks ago and spotted that WinPcap wasn't properly installed for x64 applications using our WinPcap installer (x86 applications like Nmap work fine on x64, but x64 ones would fail to load WinPcap). This explains why there were some extra files in the new WinPcap setup file that I struggled to account for at the time - as they don't state they're x64 versions, unlike the x64 driver - as there aren't many x64 applications on Windows that use WinPcap. Attached is a patch that makes our version of the WinPcap installer place these extra files in the right locations on x64 systems, which I've briefly tested (it certainly fixes the issue I had on Windows 7 x64). I quickly updated the upgrading instructions file too to cover the new files, hopefully it makes sense.
Thanks Rob, this looks great. I committed it. Please try it any let me know if it works the same as in your tests, and if there are any old files that I missed deleting.
