I have a problem running Nmap in my Windows XP with service pack 2. I have replaced real hostname with foo.example.com and IP-adress with 1.2.3.4. I can ping that IP-address normally, but Nmap is giving error: Q:\>nmap -P0 -sV foo.example.com -e eth1 Starting Nmap 5.00 ( http://nmap.org ) at 2009-12-02 16:25 FLE Standard Time nexthost: failed to determine route to 1.2.3.4 Interface does not matter. I tried with another one too.
Is there anything different about the routing table on this host? Try running "nmap --iflist". If you don't want to share that information publically you can send it to Fyodor or me. It would be helpful, if you can run the program in a debugger, if you can find out where the route_dst function is returning false (int targets.cc). Does this happen on any other hosts or with an earlier version of Nmap?
