kx:

yes i was aware of the scan from your own subnet using local target node IPs to use for your source. i did that a few
years ago. for some reason now, i can ony use the full connect() scan in my loopback situation at the moment

all:

i wanted to post this error i received as i was doing a script scan. this was a scan of a target involving the pptp
service. please keep in mind i received this exact type of error output on 2 other service script scans as output. full
info is provided as i set the debug option to 3

any clues as to what happened? bug?

thank you

(did want to also ask if anyone involved in nmap had any plans to ever try and create scripts and support packets for
layer 2 and layer 3 protocols (like OSPF/IS-ISIPX/etc), or was this strickly for nping development?)
