Hi!

I am pleased to announce the second beta version of Nping, the new
Nmap's packet generation utility. In this release, a few bugs have
been fixed and some new features have been added. Check the
Changelog for a detailed list of changes.

Nping is available for many different platforms, including Linux, *BSD,
Windows and Mac OS X. There are installers for Windows and Mac OS X and
there is a universal source code tarball that can be compiled on every
system.

If you have the time to download Nping and play with it, please report
any problems you find.

For download information, documentation, etc, check Nping's web site at:

CHANGELOG nping-0.1BETA2:

o Added more flexibility in TCP flag specification.
o Added support for CTRL-C detection so statistics are displayed before
  program termination.

can increment verbosity up to level 4 using option -v and decrease
verbosity down to level -4 using option -q.
o Finished documentation for options --source-mac and --dest-mac.
o Added the ability to display the raw hex dumps of sent/recv packets
(hex dump is displayed in verbosity level 3).
o Added support for --ether-type specification using hex numbers
  directly.
o Changed default behaviour, now nping does 5 rounds not 10 (iterates
overtarget hosts and target ports 5 times)
o Implemented IPv6 support for TCP-Connect and UDP unprivileged modes.
o Added experimental IPv6 support for raw TCP and UDP.
o Fixed a bug in -d option parsing, reported by Ben Rosenberg and solved
  by Ithilgore.
o Fixed segfault produced when a packet that was not sent by any of our
targets was received, reported and fixed by Jack Grahl.
o Fixed a bug in --IPv6 option parsing, reported by Jason R. DePriest.
o Fixed a bug that caused ICMP error messages to be missed by the packet
capture engine. Bug reported by Jack Grahl .
o Implemented signal() detection in configure script, thanks to David
  Fifield.
o Created first release tarball and windows/Mac OS X installers.
o A few other bugfixes.

Regards,

Luis MartinGarcia.
