Thanks David! I think you were right, the problem is on the ubuntu nmap package as this is a newly installed box and used the ubuntu nmap package without any custom configurations. I grabbed the source from svn and made a new build, everything seems to be working fine. I would be very interested in knowing how to fix that so other ubuntu users benefit from it. Thanks!
