I've seen that Nmap in insecure.org download RPMs are statically linked. How can I build Nmap from source to also create statically linked binary result?
Just run "make static" after configuring.
Any thoughts if these same changes for Linux build to produce statically linked binaries will work on other platforms like Solaris?
My guess is that the same binaries won't work for Solaris unless you use a cross compiler. Nmap should build on Solaris though.
