Hi Guys, I've used nmap on Linux for a while, but today I wanted to use it with Win2000. I downloaded the file nmap-4.68-win32.zip, then versions 4.62 and 4.53. All behaved the same. All I wanted to do was find out which hosts wer up in a sub-net. I did a "nmap -sP 10.138.164.0/24" and got the error message that because it couldn't find the MAC address of 10.138.164.0 it was quitting the scan. Obviously, there wasn't anybody home at that IP address, but why kill the scan? All three versions of the code did the same thing. Regards, Ed
What version of winpcap do you have installed? Do you get any more information if you increase verbosity or turn on debugging? What do you get from 'nmap --iflist'? Did you just try the Zip files or did you also try the Windows native installer? What happens if you run a scan other than a ping scan? -Jason _______________________________________________ Sent through the nmap-dev mailing list http://cgi.insecure.org/mailman/listinfo/nmap-dev Archived at http://SecLists.Org
