Hi,
I've just installed last stable version of NMAP (4.50), and It doesn't work with Vista.
I'm afraid there's a problem with the setup file for nmap 4.50 (which has been corrected in SVN and hopefully should be available on the website early next month), it doesn't install WinPcap correctly on Vista. The easiest way to get it working is probably to re-install WinPcap correctly using the (tiny) setup file found at: http://www.winpcap.org/install/default.htm If you have UAC enabled, you may also want to consider changing a registry setting to make it easier to use nmap: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NPF\Start Change the value to 2 (instead of the default of 3), and after a reboot of Vista you should be able to use a Standard User or a normal Command Prompt (rather than an elevated one) when running as an Admin user.
