I am included result of two runs on the same machine. One run from my laptop and the second from the server. All three machines are on the same network. I do not know why the Laptop would show 1 open port and the server show multiple. Please advise. Thanks. 1) Laptop Run on Desktop Starting Nmap 4.22SOC6 ( http://insecure.org ) at 2007-10-15 10:00 Mountain Daylight Time Initiating ARP Ping Scan at 10:00 Scanning xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx [1 port] Completed ARP Ping Scan at 10:00, 0.13s elapsed (1 total hosts) Initiating Parallel DNS resolution of 1 host. at 10:00 Completed Parallel DNS resolution of 1 host. at 10:00, 10.34s elapsed Initiating SYN Stealth Scan at 10:00 Scanning xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx [1705 ports] Discovered open port 1026/tcp on xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Completed SYN Stealth Scan at 10:00, 24.69s elapsed (1705 total ports) Initiating Service scan at 10:00 Scanning 1 service on xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Completed Service scan at 10:01, 43.70s elapsed (1 service on 1 host) Initiating OS detection (try #1) against xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Insufficient responses for TCP sequencing (2), OS detection may be less accurate Retrying OS detection (try #2) against xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Insufficient responses for TCP sequencing (2), OS detection may be less accurate Initiating gen1 OS Detection against xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx at 84.562s For OSScan assuming port 1026 is open, tcp/39269 and udp/35761 are closed, and neither are firewalled Insufficient responses for TCP sequencing (0), OS detection may be less accurate SCRIPT ENGINE: Initiating script scanning.
