Odd behavior on Windows XP when running Sygate Personal Firewall Standard 5.6.2808

This is just and FYI and workaround should anyone else encounter the same problem. SPF includes a "DoS protection" and "Protocol Driver-Level Protection" mechanism: http://smb.sygate.com/products/spf/whatsnew_spf.htm When I run nmap with the firewall turned on, either specifically or by error, SPF is killing my ethernet card, and forcing me to reboot. If I simply exit the program while I run nmap, I can then start SPF back up after I am finished. Not really sure what is going on, or if it is even one of these mechanisms, but it is definitely SPF that is causing the issue. I did not have the issue with SPF 5.1. I had never seen "Hardware Error" messages before when trying ping.
