Split into files of 4096 hosts and run multiple nmaps?

Subject: Invalid character in host specification (NOT).

Hey,

after searching through a text file of IP's, trying to figure out what
on earth the invalid character could possibly be... I realized it's
because I specified more than 4098 hosts.

nmap -n -sL -iL master.txt | wc -l
Invalid character in host specification.
QUITTING!
   4098

I have files of IP's that I need to scan that have much more than 4098
hosts, same for --excludefile as well.

Is there some kind of tweak that I could do to up this limit?
I need to
roughly double it.

Thanks.

Alen.
