Hello, FYI, in one EU-country, Finland, port scanning has been deemed illegal by Finnish Supreme Court on the 8th of Apr, 2003 (precedent KKO:2003:36). The decision details (only in Finnish, sorry) are available at http://finlex1.edita.fi/dynaweb/oiktap/kko/fkko/@Generic__BookTextView/12844;hf=0 I found a summary in English rounding up the details in at: http://www.osborneclarke.com/publications/text/ITM0903f.htm Regards, Henrik Javier wrote:
Just for what it's worth, I don't know the exact differences between US and Europe legislations, but the fact that port scanning is legal is, as far as I know, yet to be proven in a court of law in a European country.
