I have released Nmap 2.53. For most users, there may not be any need to upgrade. The main issue resolved is a commenting bug that caused major problems for some non-gcc users. Here are the changes: -- Fixed a commenting issue that could cause trouble for non-GNU compilers (first found by Jan-Frode Myklebust (janfrode at parallab.uib.no)) -- A few new services to nmap-services For those of you running Linux/x86 w/rpm (www.rpm.org), you can install/upgrade to the newest version of nmap/nmapfe with these commands: rpm -vhU (nmap url) where (nmap url) is one (or both) of these: ftp://ftp.server51.freshmeat.net/pub/nmap/nmap-2.53-1.i386.rpm ftp://ftp.server51.freshmeat.net/pub/nmap/nmap-frontend-0.2.53-1.i386.rpm source tarballs and source RPMs are available at: http://www.insecure.org/nmap/ or ftp://ftp.server51.freshmeat.net/pub/nmap Cheers, Fyodor
